Makeover Your Attitude
Nothing’s worst than when you take a nice long look in the mirror and come to the realization that you’ve become the Debbie Downer or Negative Nancy you’ve always talked about. Your outlook on life is nothing short of drab. You’re always in a funk. You constantly complain but don’t take any of the necessary steps to change your circumstances. You’ve replaced your cute little skinny jeans with yoga pants and over sized shirts and the mom bun has become a daily part of your life. You’re short on patience with the kids and if your husband asks you a question you’re ready to bite his head off!
If you’re this kind of Mommy, I’m talking to you!
Your attitude needs a makeover so let’s clean it up today!
I’ve been here before and the crazy part is I don’t know how. When asked what’s wrong I can’t even give an honest answer as to why my attitude stinks. I mean, I just don’t know! It’s not always my monthly cycle. Nobody has done anything or said anything to me that’s rubbed me the wrong way. I’m convinced it was just me. Guess what? I’m also convinced it’s just you.
Let me tell what I did!
I got fed up! I decided that tomorrow isn’t promised. I realized that my kids were watching and that my husband didn’t deserve it . I realized that I couldn’t give anybody the best of me with my nasty little attitude in the way. I started to think before I spoke. I started to walk away for a breather before I flipped out. I started reciting positive affirmations everyday. I started praying a little more often. I set aside time just for me to do the things that I enjoyed. I started to laugh and smile more. I started living.
I’m sure you’ve heard the saying ” Turn your frown upside down”. Try it! Smile with me and start making over your attitude today!
Makeover Your Tresses
If our hair not on point we just don’t feel right! I’ve turned down many of invites because I refused to be seen out in public without my hair being done. That’s why i’m confident that making over your hair will make you feel like a million bucks.
Add some color. Determine for yourself if blonds really do have more fun!
Add some extensions. Embody the saying “Long hair, don’t care”!
Cute cut maybe….love a fierce bob!
If you are afraid to be too risky, start small. Try some streaks, a few small pieces of color in the front for a pop of color. Grab your best friend and go play in some wigs! At least with those you don’t have to change your real hair. You can go long, short, colored and change them out according to the look you’re going for that day.
Makeover your tresses and watch you feel like a knew woman immediately!
Makeover Your Beauty Product Collection
I love playing in makeup! It’s no greater feeling than when you’ve found a new lip color that leaves you feeling like a model.
Start here! A pop of color on your lips will go a long way. Grab your best friend and head to your nearest beauty counter to discover new beauty products that will have you slaying your selfies. It don’t have to be expensive brand names. Drug store brands still have the same wow factor.
My go to for finding new colors I may want to try is Youtube. I look at countless products reviews, hauls and reveals from people with my same skin tone and If I see products that I think will enhance my look I go give them a try. I highly suggest starting on Youtube for inspiration on making over your beauty collection.
Another beauty collection item that will have you feeling sassy is nail polish. Neutral nail polish is simple and classy but find that pop of color that will have your confidence through the roof. Bright pinks, neon oranges, shiny yellows, glitters and shimmer will have you shining bright like a diamond. Going to the salon to have your nails done is great. But you feel much more liberated when the bold colors are apart of your own collection, you doll your own self up and its much cheaper! Oh you fancy, huh!?
Don’t forget your coupons!
Makeover Your Educational Skills
The best thing you can do is invest in yourself. You are never too old to learn. You should always strive to do better and be better. Educating yourself doesn’t always mean paying thousands of dollars to obtain a degree. That’s great and all, I’m a college graduate. But educating yourself is as simple as researching.
There are tons of free courses offered online that teach you new skills. Youtube is a gold mine for learning. Trips to your neighborhood library is another free resource with endless opportunities to self educate. You can also educate yourself by asking people around you who are already knowledgeable in your are of interest for help.
Knowledge is power. You’ll be surprised how making over your educational skills will boost your confidence and can possibly increase your income.
Makeover Your Fitness Routine
We all agree that overall fitness is a lifestyle. You can only go so far on fad diets. So make over your fitness routine. You will feel better, look better and have renewed energy.
Find the time to exercise. It can be a long walk in the park with the kids, an early morning run, a late night session in the gym, a yoga video in your living room or even an impromptu dance party with your children. I encourage you to find what works for you and your schedule and stick to it. Find yourself an accountability partner to help you stay motivated and on track. You can also download fitness apps that will help you keep track of your progress.
Make working out fun! I use my Fitbit to accomplish this. Fitbit is a activity tracker that helps you track your activity, sleep, exercise, weight and more. I love Fitbit because you can create challenges and compete with your friends. Imagine smoking them in a challenge and having the tools to rub it in their face every chance you get!
You need to also change your eating habits. Consume more fruits and vegetables, eat smaller portions, keep healthy snacks handy and try meal prepping.
Combining exercise and better eating habits will have you fitting into those pre-pregnancy jeans in no time!
Makeover Your Closet
I’ve had clothing hanging around from a million years ago and I know I’m not the only one. I can’t help but think that just when I throw away that old neon shirt and bamboo earrings I’ll make the guest list to someone’s 90’s party! I’ve had clothing waiting in the wings for whenever I lose a few inches off my waist. I’ve had clothes that I haven’t worn in years just collecting dust in the back of the closet. Then a light bulb went off!
Those items weren’t doing anything for my operation makeover. They weren’t complimenting my new attitude, new hair or new confidence so I decided I had to absolutely get some new pieces. I had to purge my closet!
I suggest keeping it affordable by going through what you have first. You may be able to makeover some of your old pieces by adding a new scarf or adding a pop of color from accessories.
Then grab your girl friends and head out for a day of digging through your favorite clearance racks. Have yourself a thrift store crawl, that sound super fun, right! You may even decide to host a clothing swap with friends…
Your goal is to find that new piece that compliments the new you!

It can be as simple as every Friday you soak in a nice warm bubble bath and then paint your nails and toes a fancy new color. It could be every Sunday you try a new hair do while listening to your favorite music and sipping on a glass of red wine. It could be every Saturday night after the kids are in bed you proposition your husband to gift you a nice back or foot rub.

Makeover Your Daily Schedule
Would you feel like a new woman if you found an extra hour or more in your day to do with as you please? Would your life feel revamped if you were no longer rushing around short on time? If you answered yes to either of these questions my suggestion is for you to makeover your daily schedule.
If you have no daily schedule I suggest you create one. Plan out your day! Having a plan is a guide to help you get things accomplished. It’s also proven that you are less likely to waste time when you have a plan in place.
For the working Moms, makeover your schedule by meal planning and prepping. Laying out clothes and ironing for the week may be more efficient than ironing daily. Maybe wake up a little earlier so that you don’t feel rushed in the morning. Get some major things accomplished after the kids go to bed at night. Pick just one day a week to run errands. Don’t set yourself up to have something you need to do after work every single day.
For the SAHM, get as much as you can done while your babies are napping. Create and execute that plan! Schedule play dates only on certain days. If you are tired, pick one day a week to nap with your child. You can also prep your meals the night before once the kids are in bed. Meal planning and prepping go a long way for you as well.
Take a good look at your daily schedule and maximize your time wisely, you won’t regret it!
I’d love you hear more about how to plan to achieve your mommy makeover without the knife!
