Wow! It’s hard to believe that 2017 is over!
I had an awesome 2017…I RE-STARTED MY BLOG, had some awesome travel opportunities, had plenty of first experiences, met some great new people, and overcame many lessons in marriage and parenting.
I say confidently, that I will be entering 2018 a much better wife, mom, blogger and woman overall!
As a result, I invite you to come along on my 2017 journey from January to December….
2017 Year In Review: My Favorite Memory From Each Month
JANUARY 2017
We spent Martin Luther King weekend is Los Angeles as a family. It was our first time going and we had a blast! Once we got past the horrific traffic we became little adventurers. We stayed in Long Beach at Hyatt Centric The Pike hotel and traveled to food and attractions both near and far. There is so much to do and see just outside the hotel’s doors that I highly suggest it as a place to stay with children, for sure!
The kids favorite part of Los Angeles was Hollywood. We particularly liked our experience and the views at Santa Monica Pier.
FEBRUARY 2017
February is the month of love! As a result, this photo of KB and I is my favorite representation of the month. We snagged this picture in Houston, TX. I love street art and never miss the opportunity to go snag a picture with some during our travels and when I discover new local pieces. Houston is home to some awesome street art!
MARCH 2017
For spring break we took a Plan B road trip across the state of Florida as a family! It was so much fun! KB and Niah both have March birthdays so it also doubled as birthday celebrations for them both. Plan A was to travel north and gift Niah her requested 10th birthday gift of visiting New York but the north got slammed with snow so we settled for Plan B.
We made stops in Jacksonville, Daytona Beach, Miami, Miami Beach and New Orleans.
This picture was taken at Miami Beach…
APRIL 2017
I am all for gifting my children experiences over things and finding ways for them to give back. So, when I had the opportunity for us to go volunteer at the Houston Food Bank I was thrilled. We spent the day packing donations for families and cleaning up afterwards. It was very rewarding, the kids enjoyed and even said they wanted to go back and volunteer again. Winning!
MAY 2017
KB and I spent our 12th Anniversary in the beautiful Acapulco! We stayed at Las Brias Hotel and I’m convinced that their casita’s have the best views in all of Acapulco.
This picture was taken on their beach and I love it so much because the views are awesome and my favorite tote bag describes my travel goals to the tee…..

All I knew is that I wanted to spend my 35th Birthday international and that is just what I did! KB and I celebrated my birthday in London without the kids. We had so much fun and I can’t wait to return.
This picture was taken just steps away from the London Eye….
JULY 2017
My sister gifted Niah a cruise for her 10th birthday. It was Niah’s first cruise and they invited me to tag along. We turned it into a girl’s trip and had a blast!
This picture was taken at Isla Pasion which is a short boat ride from the Cozumel cruise port….

AUGUST 2017
I love trying new things and having first experiences. I purchased this Groupon because I had never been rock climbing and wanted to experience it for the first time. While the kids were back home in Detroit with their grandparents, KB and I opted for a date date rock climbing. It was both of our first time and we definitely wouldn’t mind trying it again!
SEPTEMBER 2017
For KJ’s 8th birthday he requested to spend it at Sea World so we made it happen! He was so happy and I think we got the Parent’s of The Year Award!!

OCTOBER 2017
I’m a Yelp Houston Elite! As a result, I was invited to tour the grand opening of a Houston hotel and bring one guests along. KB and I endulged on the fabulous opportunity filled with the ultimate VIP treatment. I rarely get the opportunity to get all dolled up so this picture easily became my favorite photo from October.
NOVEMBER 2017
We spent Thanksgiving in New Orleans. We had 4 nights and 5 days jam packed with experiences. For example, KJ and I got pulled into our first street show. He made $20 and well I just made memories! lol We also got to indulge in great eats, attend the Bayou Classic Parade, and the Celebration in the Oaks Holiday Lights event. We left with a ton of priceless memories that I hope they will cherish forever.

DECEMBER 2017
For the first time ever, we spent Christmas Eve in Galveston, TX with my sister and brother-in-law. They traveled in from Dallas and with it being a short drive from us we had to go make new memories and that’s exactly what we did!
We spent the day exploring Galveston Island and it was a great first opportunity!
As you can see I had a great 2017. However, I am looking forward to all the great things that 2018 has in store for our family!
