Are you or your children smoothie fans?
I’m constantly looking for healthy, quick, easy and safe recipes that my children can make with little assistance since they are getting older. We are big fans of smoothies, especially for breakfast! However, I always find that I am the only one making them.
The last thing I want to do is hinder my children from learning important independence skills and that includes safely learning their way around the kitchen. So, I decided to search for smoothie recipes that they can make with little to no help that involves just a few ingredients and no cutting.
No matter the time of year, smoothies are a healthy snack or meal replacement option that can literally be made in a hundred different ways. Most children don’t even realize the health benefits because of the sweetness from the natural sugar contained in the fruit. It’s a great way to sneak in all the goodness for your picky eaters!
You can make smoothie making even easier by pre-bagging all of the ingredients and all your child has to do is pop the ingredients from the bag in the blender with the liquid of choice and blend, blend, blend.
MAKE IT FUN FOR THEM! Let them try to create their own Smoothie Recipes with their favorite fruits and veggies…
All you need:
- A good blender
- A cutting board to hold the ingredients
- Cute cups to hold the smoothie or cute cups to drink their smoothie of the go
- Fancy straws for them to drink the smoothie from (optional)
- Measuring cups
- Freezer bags if you decide to pre-bag all of the ingredients for them
