Beer and Shreveport kind of go hand and hand!
I can’t think of a better time to be a beer lover in Shreveport. Whether you are a craft beer lover or a fan of domestic fair, Shreveport has something to quench your thirst. The beer scene seems to have created huge waves in recent years and something tells me it’s not done yet.
Craft beer is so on trend and it’s easy to see why. The creative beer combinations, irresistible eats, and fun atmosphere is enough to draw in millennial’s and those alike. And Shreveport is home to some of the coolest beer havens. From hip spots that sell craft beers with an array of delicious pizza to one of the most iconic eateries serving up some of the coldest beer around.
After spending an extended weekend in the city and downing my fair share of beer like locals, I’ve narrowed my list down to four places that are perfect to delight in a cold one when in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Established in 2013, Great Raft Brewing is a great addition to Shreveport’s craft beer community. Visitor’s praise the fun, lively atmosphere here that includes games like Cornhole, and cool themed events. If you choose, pair your craft brew with good eats from local food trucks that are always on site. You can even opt for one of the free tours that take place on Saturday’s.
The team, Andrew, Lindsay and Harvey are passionate and knowledgeable about craft beer and the authenticity at which they serve their community. Herby K’s
Address: 1833 Pierre Ave, Shreveport, LA 71103, US
Open since 1936, Herby K’s is one of Shreveport’s most iconic restaurants. They are known for their open-faced shrimp po’boy known as the Shrimp Buster. However, i’m convinced that they have the coldest beer in all of Shreveport. Chilled beer, from the tap, can or bottle is poured into over sized frozen glasses for your pleasure. One sip is a total thirst quencher and its absolutely hard to resist the chilled brew on a warm day. Pair it with their delicious etouffee covered crab cake, oysters or crawfish french fries to soak up the good time and you’re well on your way!
They have been named as “One of the Best Louisiana Restaurants Not in New Orleans” by media. Surely, visitors flock to this popular seafood joint and bar in droves. So go grab you a cold one and enjoy the vintage atmosphere.
