We finally made it to the Mile High City! It’s been on our bucket list for long as I can remember. I just crossed it off the list as I sat down to curate this awesome adventure.
I can still feel the sun kissing my skin, as it struggled against the cool crisp air. I thought I was crazy to leave the beautiful sunny weather in Houston to freeze and shiver in foreign territory. But that is the beauty of travel. One minute you can be sitting on the beach in your bikini and just hours later you can have on your North Face coat ready to ski.
For quite awhile, the kid’s have been wishing for the opportunity to make snow angels and have snow ball fights. As a result, they were thrilled to finally have the opportunity upon the fresh snow in Denver, Colorado!
The weather is gorgeous no matter the time of year. Even on chilly days the sun beams in just the right way to give you a hot flash at the perfect time.

Address: 1717 Champa St, Denver, CO 80202
The thing I liked most about this hotel was it’s location! It is right in the heart of downtown Denver, just steps away from tons of restaurants, shops and entertainment. The infamous 16th Street Mall is so close you can taste it! There are many convenient transportation options at your disposal. The best part is that there is no need to drive if you don’t choose to.
Things I loved:
- THE LOCATION
- The yoga mat in the room
- The robes in the room
- The free bike rentals
- The evening reception (beer, wine and light appetizers)
- The morning coffee and tea selection in the lobby

EAT
Denver Buscuit Company
Location: 3237 E Colfax Ave.
The biscuits are huge! If you are looking for a light bite, you can easily split this with another individual. They have a ton of delicious options to choose from. We had a slight wait which is absolutely normal for this Denver staple. However, I like that they text you when your table is ready so that you are not held hostage while you wait patiently to taste all this goodness. I got the Franklin and it was so savory, I highly recommend it. Sloppy, yet for once I didn’t care who saw the mess upon my mouth. Are you brave enough to try one?
Snooze: an AM Eatery
Location: 1701 Wynkoop St #150
Breakfast, brunch, lunch! Whatever time of the day you prefer, just get here! The food was so tasty. Niah got the breakfast burrito and it was huge! It was definitely big enough for two people to indulge in. I ordered the breakfast tacos (not pictured) and I devoured every last bite. This place is known to have a lengthy wait time so pack your patience. It is worth it! I also like that they text you when your table is ready so that you can explore the area and return when prompted. This location is located inside the Union Station so we had plenty to see while we waited. Trust me, please don’t snooze on this place!
High Point Creamery
Location: 2669 Larimer Street
I love awesome experiences, especially awesome food experiences. When I saw this ice flight I knew that I had to try it! I am obsessed with flights! With plenty of options to choose from we sampled our way to choosing the perfect flight for us. The kids had a blast taste testing, giving their options and engulfing the creamy goodness. I also loved the location because just steps away are so many cool street art pieces. You can easily walk off the calories by exploring the area by foot and grabbing some cool photos for the Gram! Oh, and the prices are very reasonable!
Little Man Ice Cream
Location: 2620 16th St
When I return to Denver this will be my first stop! The flavors are so enticing but because of the cold weather and no indoor seating I sacrificed my taste buds. But not before I grabbed this must-see picture. I think it has the coolest design! It also have great reviews. Will you be among the Little Man Ice Cream fans on your visit?
ARTS & CULTURE
Union Station
I had to stop at this iconic Mile High City staple! I loved the richness of history you feel just being in it’s presence. With chic decor, a host of edible options, a hotel, train transportation and other convenient surroundings you don’t want to miss it. We ate in side at Snooze AM Eatery and truly enjoyed the atmosphere. I would be totally against you missing this stop while in Denver, add it to your list!
Street Art
I love my street art! I never miss an opportunity to hunt for some of the best pieces during our travels. Denver has some great pieces! You can not miss the Greetings from Denver options. Remember, if you don’t have photos it didn’t happen!
ENTERTAINMENT
16th Street Mall
Stop whatever you are doing and add the 16th Street Mall to your list! It is a must! A slew of attractions, shops, restaurants and entertainment at your convenience. You can easily spend the day entertaining the entire family on 16th Street! I recommend staying at a hotel within in close proximity it will make the experience much more convenient. I like that they offer free shuttles up and down the strip for those of us who may grow tired of exploring by foot. Don’t be confused by the name it is much more than an outdoor mall!
OUTDOORS
Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre
The views don’t get any better than the Red Rocks Park! Pack your camera and document every last angle. Your children will love catching the sights and then running from the top to the bottom and back up again, mine did! What would be even cooler is catching a concert at the amphitheatre, imagine that! This short drive from Downtown Denver is well worth it. It appears to be swarming with tourist regularly so go claim your spot!
