The Birthday Boy was turning seven and he had only one wish. That one wish was to go to LEGOLAND! It seems like the older kids get the more adamant they are about what they want. I complain, but with my wanderlust spirit in full affect KaRon and I knew we had to make it happen and that’s just what we did.
After researching, I found that most people recommended the LEGOLAND Orlando theme park over the one located in California. They suggested that it was bigger and offered more. As a result, we decided to adhere to the recommendations. With September 2016 coming to a close our family of four jet set to Orlando on a 3 night, 4 day Birthday adventure!
LEGOLAND is a great option if you’re on a budget in Orlando. The tickets are less expensive than Disney World.
The theme park was just a short drive from our hotel. The parking was plentiful but be prepared to walk a nice distance from the lot to the entry gates. If you are a Lego fan this theme park is a must see. Almost everything is made of Lego’s. However, they don’t have very many roller coasters so we were slightly disappointed that some things were not operating during our visit.
My favorite snack there was Granny’s Apple Fries and they were located at the beginning of the park across from the carousel.
After such a fun day outdoors we headed back to our hotel to celebrate the Birthday boy at the resort’s waterpark over his favorite cake.
We stayed at the cool and newly renovated Holiday Inn Resort Orlando Suites – Waterpark. This resort is an awesome choice for families. The suites have a great layout and the hotel offers a variety of fun activities that kids will absolutely love.
We booked our hotel through Expedia and got an excellent bargain!
I will say that we won the parents of the year award after we pulled off this Birthday Trip for KJ. He was so grateful and as parents thats always our goal.
